Job Overview & Responsibilities

Petcover Group is looking for a UK BASED enthusiastic Web Developer with a passion for front end and back-end development. You will work as part of an emerging team developing software for new and exciting projects with large customers. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team and will be provided with hand-ons on experience in a fast working paced environment. Your main responsibilities will be to design, develop, test and produce web-based comparison solutions for a range of clients. You’ll be given free reign to use the latest web technologies such as Ajax, JQuery, HTML5 and CSS3 with the ability to express your creative skills.

Requirements:

An excellent understanding of the following front end technologies:

  • JavaScript – including AJAX and jQuery library
  • Image creation/manipulation – e.g. Photoshop, Firebug etc

Basic understanding of the following languages and technologies (Or the willingness to learn):

  • Python: including Django
  • PHP
  • Microsoft Windows & Linux Operating Systems
  • MySQL databases
  • XML, SOAP, HTTP

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial experience in web based environment

Must also have:

  • High standard of spoken and written English.
  • Good understanding of the Object-Oriented programming model and Software Design Principles.
  • General knowledge of Free Open Source Software (FOSS)
  • Be able to assist junior programmers.
